Dr. Jayanthi “Jay” Wheeler is an internal medicine physician, specializing in the treatment of the primary care needs of adult patients. Dr. Wheeler has been practicing in Melbourne since 2008. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Wheeler received her medical degree in 1992 from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. She worked as a physician in Bangalore and Calcutta India from 1992 to 1997, before coming to the United States to pursue additional training. Dr. Wheeler completed her internship in 2001 at Newton Wellesley Hospital/Tufts University School of Medicine in Newton, MA and completed her residency in internal medicine in 2004 at the Hospital of Saint Raphael/Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. She was selected as Chief Resident during her last year of training. Following her residency training, Dr. Wheeler moved to Dover, NH where she worked as a hospitalist at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital for four years. Dr. Wheeler joined Medical Associates of Brevard in 2008, where she is pleased to be working as a traditional internal medicine physician caring for her patients in both her office and at the hospital. Dr. Wheeler has privileges at Holmes Regional Medical Center and Wuesthoff Medical Center – Melbourne. It is the goal of Dr. Wheeler and her staff to treat all patients with dignity, compassion and professionalism. |
