Dr. Mazo-Mayorquin is a Clinical Neurologist who specializes in the treatment of brain, nerve and muscular diseases. Dr. Mazo-Mayorquin received his Medical Doctor degree from the University of Cauca, Colombia. He completed his Clinical Neurology residence at the University of Puerto Rico, in San Juan. During his residency he received intensive training in the treatment of Stroke, Dementia and Headaches. Upon completion he attended Louisiana State University for two years in a fellowship orgram studying Pain Management, Electrodiagnostic studies and Movement Disorders. Dr. Mazo-Mayorquin is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of: Parkinson’s disease, Essential tremor, Deep Brain Stimulator programming for movement disorders; Botox injections for dystonia and spasticity,; Acute Pain Management, Headaches, and Migraines. He also is proficient in electrodiagnostic interpretation of Electromyography (EMG), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), and Electroencephalography (EEG) to support neurological diagnosis.
