Dr. Desai, has been a practicing physician for two decades, having received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Natal Medical School, Durban, South Africa in 1981. Following five years as an Associate Member of the Royal College of Pathologists and two years as a Fellow in the Faculty of Pathologists of South Africa, Dr. Desai proceeded to obtain a Doctorate of Medicine, a PhD. equivalent, from Natal Medical School. For the last several years, Dr. Desai has dedicated his practice to Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism, having been board certified in those three areas of specialization in 1997 by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is on the attending staff at Holmes Regional Medical Center and Wuestoff Medical Center-Melbourne. Dr. Desai’s medical training also includes a Clinical and Research Fellowship and a Residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worchester, Massachusetts. Other contributions to the field of Medicine which Dr. Desai has made during his career include numerous abstracts and papers, and extensive research in the field of Endocrinology, having trained at the National Institute of Health where he was awarded the prestigious Fogarty Post-Doctorate Scholarship. Dr. Desai’s greatest contribution to medicine is his dedication to each and every patient he serves. |
